Donald Bromley is a Chicago-based photographer, specializing in editorial and corporate work. He is also a master of fine portraiture. After completing the photography program at Columbia College, Don worked for various photo labs, gaining experience in the production aspect of the trade. At the same time, he did as much freelance shooting as he could, and gradually turned it into a full-time business.
Bromley speaks about his philosophy on corporate photography: "Business is about people. Money may be the incentive, but it's the energy and ingenuity of individuals and people working together that make things happen. My mission is to capture a moment of that creativity or the spirit of the people behind it."
His craftsmanship shines, literally, in his lighting techniques. Whether he is on location in a warehouse or factory, in an office or a home, or in his own studio, working in black & white or color, he is ever resourceful in finding the right lighting solution.
Don's photographic portraits, from personal sittings to musicians in action, exude personality. This is due to the rapport people feel with him, and to his imaginative approach and techniques. Bromley's personal work can also be seen in fine art shows. |
